Learning online with Anna
“The online sessions are as good as being in the room. Worth every penny.”
— Sarah, parent, online sessions
An online session with Anna is the same hour, at the same time each week, at the same price per level as the study room on the edge of Ludlow. The only difference is the table your child sits at.
How an online session runs
An hour on a video call, with one child, at the same calm pace as the room.
Anna and your child join the call at the same time each week. She starts by asking what came up at school since last time, so the hour picks up where school left off rather than where a textbook does.
They work through a problem together. Your child writes on paper, as they would at Anna's desk, and shows her the page when a step is done. Anna watches the working, not only the answer, because the working is where the gap shows.
When something is not clear, Anna slows down and comes at it from a different side. Nobody is hurried, and nothing is marked wrong without the reason being talked through.
The hour ends with your child saying back, in their own words, what they can now do that they could not before. That sentence is what Anna builds the next week on.
It is a live lesson with one teacher, not a recording or a course. Anna teaches one child, or a small group of up to four, and she is the only person on the other end of the call.
What you need at home
Four things, all of which you probably have already.
- A quiet spot where your child can sit for an hour without the television or a younger sibling in the room.
- A laptop or tablet with a camera and a microphone, so Anna can see your child's face and hear them think aloud.
- An internet connection steady enough for a video call, the same as a call to a grandparent.
- Paper and a pen or pencil, because the working is done by hand, exactly as it is in the study room.
There is nothing to buy. If your child can join a video call, they can learn with Anna.
If you are unsure whether your set-up will do, ask before the free half hour and Anna will tell you.

A free half hour, online too
The first thirty minutes are free whether your child sits at Anna's desk or your own.
Anna spends the half hour finding out where your child is and what has been getting in the way, and you both see whether it suits before anything is paid.
She teaches Monday to Thursday, 15:45 to 19:30, and Saturday mornings, 09:00 to 12:30. Spaces change each term, so ask and she will tell you which evenings are currently free, or see the evenings with space.
